Looking to whip up some sweet treats for some special people in your life? These marvelous morsels from our NO BAKE BOOK do not take much time to make & will no doubt be gobbled up just as quick.
(quicker if our Basset Hound, Gus had his way... he's very attentive when it comes to any action happening in the kitchen:-)
1 -12 oz pkg of chocolate chips
1 teaspoon of Crisco
3/4 cup chopped cashews, almonds or macadamia nuts
3/4 cup raisins or dried cranberries
1/2 cup dried cherries or apricots
Melt chocolate chips & Crisco in microwave (1 minute) Stir in nuts & dried fruit. Drop mixture by spoonfuls onto waxed paper. Let cool until firm (about 2 hours)
3 tablespoons of butter
2 1/2 cup mini marshmallows
2 cup pretzel sticks coarsely broken
2 tablespoons peanut butter
Melt marshmallows & butter in microwave (30 seconds) Mix in pretzels until coated & drop onto waxed paper. Melt caramels (45 seconds) & stir in peanut butter. Drizzle over pretzel drops. Let cool until firm.
*I noticed these are still quite sticky even after they're cool, so I think a great substitue for marshmallows would be white chocolate.
